New Management
The Association for Healthcare Volunteer Resource Professionals (AHVRP) is proud to announce that the CAVS certification process is now being managed by CCVA (Council for Certification in Volunteer Administration). AHVRP is pleased to continue offering this credential that recognizes its members as proficient in their field. This transition to CCVA offers new opportunities to strengthen our profession of volunteer management while making the certification process more affordable for everyone.
The CAVS Credential
CAVS status provides both internal and external rewards. CAVS certificants enjoy the pride of recognition of being among the elite in a critical field of healthcare. And CAVS is a premier credential based on a sound assessment that provides distinction in an increasingly competitive marketplace.
Under the new agreement, all current CAVS retain their certification. New applicants taking the exam will take the same exam that was offered previously through the AHA Certification Center. Candidates take the exam via a web-based e-testing service at their own facilities once specific requirements are fulfilled regarding proctoring of the exam. The CAVS exam is also offered at the Annual AHVRP Conference in paper and pencil format.
Special offerings of the CAVS exam at state conferences can also be arranged upon request.
CAVS renewals will be processed through AHVRP. The criteria to renew remains unchanged (45 contact hours/3 years). CAVS who choose to renew by re-test will take the CAVS exam through CCVA.
Exam Fees
- AHVRP members -- $250
- Non-members -- $375
Fees may be made via credit card using PayPal on this website, or by check made payable to CCVA.
