Welcome to CCVA!
The Council for Certification in Volunteer Administration advances the profession and practice of volunteer resource management by:
- Articulating core competencies for the profession of volunteer administration
- Certifying individuals who demonstrate knowledge and competence in the leadership of volunteers.
- Advancing standards of ethical practice
- Promoting professional development and education
Certified in Volunteer Administration (CVA) is the only international professional certification in the field of volunteer resources management. Originally developed by the Association for Volunteer Administration (AVA) several decades ago, the program is now sponsored by the Council for Certification in Volunteer Administration (CCVA).
CCVA has recently assumed management of the CAVS (Certified Administrator of Volunteer Services), a certification program especially for leaders of volunteers in healthcare settings. Read more about the CAVS program.
